Happy Independence Day! I hope you have great plans for today. At my house, we are having a fish fry. We have had a few successful fishing trips so we will get to enjoy some very tasty catfish and crappie. We are also having onion rings, hush puppies, and French fries. It’s oh so wonderful!
I wish I could say I was taking the day off from chores but there are a few too many things to do. Last weekend, I got quite a lot crossed off my to-do list. Yay for me! This weekend I am preparing for family to arrive next week. My niece is coming into town with her husband and 3 year old son. I don’t get to see them much since they live in Pennsylvania. My niece will be on a business trip, but we will get to visit in the evenings. My sister is coming along to help with her grandson. Our mother, his great-grandmother lives with me. It will be a fabulous little family reunion.
So of course this weekend I will be cleaning like a mad woman. No one cleans like when they are getting company.
I actually had the day off from work yesterday, so my husband and I went fishing. We didn’t catch anything this time, but that’s ok. It was a great day to be out on the water.
I stayed up late to write this blog, and while I was sitting at my computer it occurred to me that I still had a little ice cream left in the freezer.
Last weekend my husband and I worked so hard that we wanted to treat ourselves. We came inside from finishing our chores for the day, hot and tired. We each had a pint of our favorite flavor (mine was salted caramel frozen yogurt). It was so good; before I could stop myself I had eaten half of the pint. It was awesome!
Well, by Friday night I had just a few bites left so I grabbed it out of the freezer as I sat down to write this week’s blog. I am not immune to the temptation of junk food. Every once in a while I indulge myself.
This week’s blog was hard to write. I have so many things going on in my head that it is hard to keep focused sometimes. I have several writing projects that I am working on. And I have decided to redo my website. When I started this company, I built my website to reflect my vision for helping people. In the years that followed, my vision has evolved and grown. I am continually studying and learning new things. As a result, I feel that it is time to create a new website that reflects my new vision of my business. So please bear with me in the coming weeks. If you find my website inaccessible at times, it is because I am working on it.
So this week’s blog is short, but I am sure I will make up for it next week with tales of a cute little 3 year old boy who is smart as a whip. It’s been a while since I have had a little one running around the house, but I am looking forward to it.
Have a blessed and safe 4th of July.
